Supporting practice improvement in transvaginal mesh use
Client: Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care
KP Health is supporting the Commission to consult with clinicians and consumers, review evidence and develop guidance for consumers and clinicians.
Following a request from state and territory health department representatives, the Commission is developing guidance for consumers, clinicians and health services on the use of transvaginal mesh products for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.
As part of this project, the Commission is reviewing the existing evidence on the use of transvaginal mesh and is working with a reference group that includes a range of clinical experts, consumer representatives and the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
